Covenant Connections believes pastors and ministry leaders need more than programs and resources. They need faithful prayer, trusted relationships, and encouragement from people who understand the weight of ministry.

Prayer is part of how we care for leaders

Pastors and ministry leaders carry unseen burdens. They lead through conflict, discouragement, pressure, grief, transition, family strain, and the daily responsibility of caring for others. Covenant Connections believes leaders need safe community and faithful prayer. Prayer is one of the ways we come alongside those who are serving in the trenches of ministry. Through the Prayer Ministry, we ask God to strengthen leaders, renew their hope, sustain their families, protect their souls, and deepen their dependence on Christ.

Mike Waers leads our prayer ministry

Mike joined a Covenant Group in 2015 with Alan Ahlgrim as the facilitator. Now, he has been appointed as the Prayer Ministry Coordinator for Covenant Connections. Mike serves in this volunteer role because he knows the importance of prayer to the surviving and thriving of a church staff member. His focus in the Prayer Ministry is both personal and expansive: praying for individuals and building prayer teams across the country and around the world to pray for pastors and pastoral staff.
